Which bin will your business be getting?
If your need for food waste is met by one or more normal-sized waste bins, the municipality will assume responsibility for the cost and delivery of waste bins to your business. If you have a bigger volume requirements than this, an underground container is recommended, see item 4.
- If you run a small business that currently disposes of its waste in a 190 or 370 litre bin, you will be issued with a new, dual compartment waste bin, where you place residual waste in one side and food waste in the other.
- If you currently dispose of waste in a number of smaller bins, in 660 litre bins or containers, you will have brown bins for food waste provided for your food waste; this bin will hold 140 litres.
- If you run a so-called co-located business and thus share bins with the residents of an apartment building, you will have your new bin delivered in the autumn of 2024, even if you currently use a smaller bin.
In the above cases, you will use our e-service (available during the spring) to order more bins over and above those you have been allocated, if necessary.
- If you run a business that generates large amounts of food waste, we recommend that you consider the option of building an underground container for food waste. You can read more about this on the page about underground containers.
What is a co-located business?
Co-located businesses are characterised by the fact that they operate in a residential building and also share waste bins with the residents. Often these are restaurants, hairdressers or small shops.
