Education

Kramfors Municipality offers education and childcare from preschool through adult and vocational education. Here you can find information about these services.

If you are working, studying, or looking for employment in Sweden, your child may be entitled to a preschool placement from the age of 1 to 5.

In addition to municipal preschools, Kramfors also offers pedagogical care. Pedagogical care is an alternative form of childcare, often provided in a smaller group setting.

To get a preschool placement, you need to submit an application.

Introduction to Preschool

When your child starts preschool, an introduction period (inskolning) is normally arranged.

During this period, children and parents become familiar with the preschool environment, staff, and routines to support a smooth transition.

Public Preschool

Children are entitled to public preschool from the autumn term of the year they turn 3, regardless of their parents' employment status or family circumstances.

Public preschool is free of charge and provides 15 hours of preschool per week. Children whose parents work, or study may also be entitled to additional preschool hours based on their childcare needs.

Preschool Fees

Preschool fees are based on the national fee system (maxtaxa).

The amount you pay depends on factors such as:

  • Household income
  • Number of children
  • Childcare attendance

The municipality calculates the fee according to current national regulations.

Apply for a preschool

To receive a preschool placement, an application must be submitted to the municipality. It is recommended to apply well in advance of the date you need childcare. Placements are offered based on the municipality’s placement process and the availability of places.
